Bob Savre Senior Men’s Golf League Results

   The Bob Savre Senior Men’s League had 34 golfers forming 9 teams show up to play the game of the day “3 Low Net Scores on Each Hole”  on Aug. 30 at Longbow Golf Club.

   First place, with a 204, went to the team of: Bob Vaughn, 69; Brad Duhr, 74; Marc Schonwise, 76 and Chuck Tralle, 81.

   Coming in second place, with a 208, was the team of: Dallas Anderson, 70; Jan Pyzik, 73; Mark Nichols, 80 and Cy Sorrells, 82.

   In third place, with a 209, was the team of: Kenny Schleif, 76; Doug Hoopman, 76; Mike Olson, 80 and Jamie Evans, 82.

   Fourth place, with a 211, went to the team of: Jim Sletten, 71; Danny Divot, 75; Steve Carolus, 76 and Mike Haining, 80.

   Coming in fifth place, with a 216, was the team of: Jim Lewis, 72; Roger Frank, 75; Dale Hillstrom, 81 and Bob Savre, 84.

   Neil Mandsager and Jan Pyzik tied for low gross of the day with their 81, while Bob Vaughn walked away with low net of the day with his 93-24=69.

   Neil Mandsager was closest to the pin on No. 12 with a 5’5” and Jan Pyzik was closest to the pin on No. 17 with a 15’7”. Randy Noecker had the longest putt on No. 8. 

   Chip-ins were made by Dallas Anderson, par; Kenny Schleif, par and Dave Klosner, par.

League 

Championship

   Mike Olson won the league championship with a 36 hole score of 146.  It was the third championship for Olson.  He previously won championships in 2019 and 2021.  Neil Mandsager and Ray Zittlow tied for second place with scores of 161 and Jim Zierden came in fourth with a score of 166.

League Match Play Championship

   Jim Ernst was the 2022 winner of the league Match Play Championship.  Ernst defeated Mike Olson in the finals 1 up.  This was Ernst’s second win having won the tournament in 2020.  Jerry Varner defeated Neil Mandsager in the third place match.  The annual match play tournament is played with handicaps.
