November 10, 1922
The vote for county division was 1676 for Yes and 3385 for No.
The case of State vs. David Snell charging him with the manufacture of illicit liquor, one of the strongest cases in the County Attorney’s opinion that he had, was tried by jury and the jury was out only about half an hour and returned a verdict of not guilty.

November 7, 1947
Barbara May Harvey, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Lloyd Harvey, and Donald H. Ford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ford, formerly of Longville, were married October 10th in Michigan.
The Remer school has now purchased a new baby grand piano.
A card party will be held November 8 at the Hackensack High School. Bridge, 500, and Whist will be played.

On October 25th the Chippewa Riders Snowmobile Club elected officers: Ray Kral, Jr., president; Bea Peterson, secretary; Clayton Langenbacher, treasurer; Marge Garbo and Jeannette Bruckbauer, club reporters.
Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Gehrke of Hackensack announce the engagement of their daughter JoAnn to Ray Hamilton, son of Mrs. and Mrs. David Hamilton of Backus.
Donkey Ball, the world’s craziest sport, comes to Northland High School on November 6th at 7:30 p.m.

Harry Melvin Chase Sr. died October 26th. He was born June 24, 1940 at Sugar Point to Walter and Tillie Chase. He grew up in Bena and attended school in Onigum and Boy River. He married Sandra K. Leith on December 9, 1960. They made their home at Bena.
Wilma Maude Jensen, 89, of Remer died October 30th. She married George Jensen and they made their home in Minneapolis and Coon Rapids before retiring to Remer in 1968.
Mildred Gray Locke, formerly of Longville, died October 30th at the age of 94. Born in Flandreau, SD she graduated high school there and also graduated from the U of WI-Madison. She taught physical education at Birmingham, Ala. They moved to Longville in 1966.
