There’s spooky fun to be had in the Lakeland! Ghouls and ghosts of all ages will be lurking this Halloween for family-friendly fun. Area communities have planned safe Halloween trick-or-treating events for kids.
Longville
Camp Olson YMCA will be hosting it’s Halloween Spooktacular event Saturday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. Come out for a fun evening of trick or treating from cabin to cabin.s Be ready for fun and fright and bring a donation to support the Longville Area Food Shelf. All children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Remer
The tenth annual “Trunk or Treat” event returns this Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31, at the Northland School front parking lot from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.!
In addition to frightening fun, there will be hayrides and food. Dress to impress as prizes for the best costume and best decorated trunk too will be picked! Come as skin and bones, as the Senior class is serving sloppy joes for a free will donation! Don’t forget to stop downtown as Remer businesses will be open for trick or treaters.
Hackensack
Start the festivities at Bear Pause Theater Sat., Oct. 29 from 11 a.m. until noon with a kid’s Halloween party! Enjoy games, treats, prizes, hot dogs, chips, pop and cookies. Sponsored by Bear Pause Theater, Hackensack Lions Club and Hackensack American Legion Post 202.
The Hackensack Hub is hosting a community Halloween night on October 31. Instead of waiting at home for kids that may not come, bring your treats to the Hub! Tables and chairs are provided for you to use. Wear a costume to add to the fun!
Backus
Backus American Legion will be hosting a drive-through kids Halloween party Sat., October 29 from 11 a.m. until noon. Bring the kids that are 12 and under for pumpkins, decorations and gift bags!
The 29th annual adult Halloween party will be held on the night of the 29, with hors d’oeuvres served at 8 p.m., and a costume contest at 9 p.m.
There will be multiple opportunities to be scared out of your wits by things you won’t be expecting! Halloween 2022 promises excitement and community with numerous frightening festivities. Watch out for goblins, gremlins and ghosts and have a safe Halloween!
