October 27, 1922
A number of meetings on the question of County Division have been held in Cass County this week and sentiment against County Division is now quite general. One meeting was scheduled to take place at Remer but when the Pine Riverites arrived there, they met so much opposition that, like the Arabs, “they folded their tents and quietly faded away.”

Oct. 22, 1947
In the spring of 1912, John and his wife moved to Boy Island with their family. John, age 91, has never been out of the state of Minnesota, driven or owned a car, and has never visited a doctor. They are the parents of 10 children.
A new goose barn has been completed and the Deer Run Ranch is getting a new coat of white paint in Blind Lake Twp.
The three Neururer families from Federal Dam went to Remer to help Mr. and Mrs. John Neururer celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary.
50 Years Ago
October 19, 1972
Frank Becker died at his resort home on Wabedo Lake September 27th. In 1955 he and his wife purchased the Hilltop Cabins Resort on Wabedo.
Karen Connell of Boy River and her fiancé, Bob Erickson of Sandstone were visitors of Mary Haas and the Ray Tabakas.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lux visited the Spanjers on Sunday. They lived near Longville several years ago.

October 21, 1997
Joan Ebinger opens JD’s Cosmetics and Boutique Studio in Longville, the only Merle Norman studio in northern Minnesota. She and husband Mike moved here last year.
Wayne Johnson of Johnson Marine, introduces an electric-powered pontoon. He believes it to be the first of its kind in Minnesota.
