Northland High School: The Hike into Homecoming

   Northland High School will be celebrating Homecoming week Oct. 10 - 14. The staff and students will participate in many events and dress-up days throughout the week.

   The students will kick off dress-up days on Tuesday with “Outdoor Sportsman Day” by wearing outdoor sports attire, i.e. hunting, fishing or sports gear. That evening the Lady Eagles Volleyball will host Bigfork with Junior High and JV games beginning at 5:45 p.m. and the Varsity playing at 7:00 p.m. The cross country team will travel to International Falls for a meet and the junior high Storm football team will host Cherry on the Hill City field.

   Wednesday’s dress-up theme is “Class Color Day” with students wearing class colors. That evening there will be a pizza party in the commons for students at 5 p.m. followed by the annual student vs student vs staff volleyball tournament for 7th - 12th NHS students starting at 6:00 p.m.

   Thursday’s dress-up theme is “Hiking and Camping Day” by dressing like you are ready to spend a day out in the woods. That evening the Lady Eagles Volleyball will host Chisholm for parents night. Junior High and JV games will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the Varsity game starting at 7:00 p.m. 

   Friday’s dress-up theme is “Spirit Day” with student’s showing their school pride by wearing either Eagle or Storm apparel. The Homecoming Coronation will take place at 10 a.m. in the Remer Elementary Gym. The students will either enjoy a powder puff game or head to a movie from 1:20 - 3 p.m. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. the Northland Leadership team will be sponsoring a tailgate party with a bonfire at the back pavilion, along with the Northland Booster Club putting on a cookout for fans. The Homecoming football game vs. South Ridge starts at 7:00 p.m. with the Homecoming Dance being held at Northland High School from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Join the fun for coronation, the tailgate party and the football game.
