Philip N. McMullen, age 90, of Remer, MN died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Deer River Health Care, surrounded by family.
Phil was born in 1932 to Ray and Lyle (Armstrong) McMullen in Waterloo, IA where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from Waterloo High School. Phil enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. Phil and Katherine Hemmingson were united in marriage on October 28, 1978, in Sioux Falls, SD and they made their home in Monticello and Big Lake, MN area. Phil worked as electrician for Mamouth Industries until his retirement at age 62. After retirement, Phil and Katherine moved to Remer, MN.
Phil was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, riding snowmobiles, and skiing. He volunteered at the Miracle Bible Camp.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; son, Neal McMullen; and brother, Raymond McMullen.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Katie; daughter, Renee (Dave) Brown; sister, LouElla McMullen of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Wayne, and Sam Brown; and great grandchildren, Isaiah and Sian Brown, as well as many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Northland Alliance Church, Remer, MN followed by the 2:00 PM memorial service. Burial will be at Windy Lake Cemetery in Shovel Lake Township at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Miracle Bible Camp, 4389 Timber Dr NW, Hackensack, MN 56452.
