100+ Women Who Care to meet December 5 at Walker Community Center

   There is an event coming up on December 5th for 100+ Women Who Care of the Leech Lake Area.!  The idea of this event is that 100+ women of the Leech Lake area gather together with $100 in hand with the intent of pooling their resources to donate to a selected charity.     

   The gathering will be at the Arvig Walker Area Community Center at the Rotary room.  Check in will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 5:30. Upon checking in, participants will make their donation in the form of $100 cash or a check with the recipient to be determined by the group. Members will have the opportunity to nominate local nonprofits. From the nominations, three will be drawn at random. The women who make the nominations would have an opportunity to tell the group about the organization they nominated. The participants will then vote on the winning group. The donation will then be awarded to the group who receives the most votes. The potential exists to contribute $10,000 or more to the winning organization.
