March 31, 1922
The Victor Anderson home in Leech Lake Township was destroyed by fire on March 30. Mrs. Anderson, with her two little children, left the house at 9:45 in the morning and were returning about 10:15 when they discovered that the entire front of the house was ablaze. The family came here when Leech Lake Township was just opening up for a homestead. They settled on one of the best homesteads in the locality.
The dance Friday night at George Snell school in Trelipe was well attended.
Mrs. J. C. McVay was operated on at the Olmstead home by Dr. Haberlin last week. At the latest report, she was getting along nicely.
The village of Boy River was incorporated on February 28, 1922. The first election of town officers was May 25, 1922.

March 28, 1947
Miss Phyllis Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Thompson of Longville and James Murray, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Murray of Boy River were married by Judge Oliver in Walker.
The tapping of maple trees started Saturday with new equipment that was shipped in from Vermont by Ted Bluhm and H. Countryman at Boy River.
Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Felton became the parents Saturday to a fine baby boy, David, weighing 7 pounds.

March 23, 1972
The Hackensack Sweetheart Swingers will hold a square dance March 25 at the Hackensack Legion Hall.
Mrs. Mert Lego, Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Margaret Kane, Grace Lego and Mabel McKeig went to Boy River Wednesday morning to attend a breakfast Stanley Party at Mrs. H. Countryman’s home.
Mrs. Otto Christenson entertained the Woman Lake Yahtzee Club on Monday last week.

March 30, 1997
Myrtle V. Brown, age 78, of Remer died March 18th. She moved to Remer as an infant and worked many years sat the Security State Bank in Remer, retiring in 1982.
Clara Nyhous, age 96, died March 17th at Grand Rapids. She had lived in Bena and Federal Dam, before settling at Hill City. Her husband Embert died in 1955.
The old Funny Farm building on in Remer was taken down in March and is being replaced with a steak house by Don and Darlene Jensen.
