Mr. and Mrs. W. Olson were tendered a surprise party Sunday by the neighbors of the community. Mr. Olson has had rather bad luck lately with his horses. He lost two this winter. Quite a few neighbors were present and all had a very enjoyable time and a big dinner.
Nels Hockstad returned to Longville after spending a week in Minneapolis.
The birthday party given at Edward Roby’s for their little son Edwin was enjoyed by twenty-one little guests.
Mrs. W. C. Kinkle returned to her home in the little cabin after spending a few weeks dressmaking at the Jordan’s home.

Willard Wright is the new forester for Remer. He was Assistant Ranger at Bena for the Chippewa National Forest.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Olson of Federal Dam are the proud parents of a baby girl, born March 17th.
Wilbur Barslow loaded three trucks of timber lately. Vern Weyer helped with the truck.

A St. Patrick’s Day party with music by the Country Gentlemen will be held March 18 at the Pine Needles Hall, formerly the North Grange Hall.
The C & J Café in Hackensack will be closed from March 20th to the 23rd for spring cleaning.
Phil Mix, a Northland High School senior has been accepted at Moorhead State College.

Levi LaVallee and Scott Carpenter of Longville finished with one 1st place and one 2nd place and three 3rd places in the PEO-B Class in the ISRA snowmobile races
Gary and Marty Slagle announce the engagement of their son, Wesley James Slagle to Tamara Jean Bruins. Wesley is currently employed as a police officer in St. Paul.
A Cass County feller named Cox; was walking one day on the rox. And his feet got so sore, cause the shoes that he wore, kept rubbing the holes in his sox.
