Backus Church of the Nazarene hosts open house to dedicate new building
The Backus Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a building dedication and open house on Sunday, July 10 from 4 to 6 p.m., 618 Hwy. 371. The new facility is called The Beacon and the public is invited to join in for fellowship, food and fun for the entire family.
“We are getting ready for the open house and we’re trying to make a pretty big deal about it,” Pastor John Rister said. “It’s a community facility and we want the community to use it. We don’t want it to just sit there, so we’re promoting it to be used by the community.”
The Beacon, will have space for many community uses. There is a small athletic court with basketball hoops and volleyball equipment, bathrooms, a commercial kitchen, storage space and two large classrooms.
