Jan. 20, 1922
Sherman Yochum died January 14 in a federal hospital in Arizona from injuries received while in the service of our country.
George Ford is out sawing wood now. Soon there will be so many saw rigs in Longville that one neighbor will have to saw the other neighbor’s wood to give the first neighbor a chance to saw the second neighbor’s wood.
Ray Kinkel has purchased a Ford car (a tin Lizzie).
Ardell Craig has built a new garage.

Jan. 17, 1947
Hackensack village dads hired Ed Ryerson and Art Roseberg for bartenders for the Municipal Liquor store. George Witham terminated his service.
The Longville Creamery, which was built and organized as a cooperative creamery about 30 years ago, was discontinued.
Raymond Hildebran and Harry McKeebe helped Daubers with wood-sawing last Friday in Blind Lake Twp.

Jan. 20, 1972
Pat and Bev Felton and two girl friends from Minneapolis spent New Year’s weekend at the Corwin Felton home in Longville.
The Yard and Garden Club of Remer donated money to defray the cost of Christmas decorations. The Remer Civic Club installed the decorations.
Remer students at Bemidji State College from Remer who made the Dean’s List are Robert Brown, Allen Houdek, Craig Lilyquist, Kirk Myers, Nancy Pound and Delores Swing.

Jan. 14, 1996
Area Roofs collapsed after recent 21” snows at the new Lions Club Pavilion and at a storage building at Longville Builders Supply in Longville.
The first kids on the new skating rink in Longville were Erin Moran and Chrissy Johnson, skating with Santa.
First graders at Remer Elementary brought their kittens to use as models in their art class.
