Feed2Win at Northland Community Schools
The Feed2Win after school program was developed in 2019 by concerned members of Bethany Lutheran Church to support student participation in after school activities. A light meal of soup, sandwich, fruit and a drink, would be provided to students that are staying after school.
In support, Remer churches, Northland Lions, Remer and Boy River residents have provided donations of money and time. This commitment to our students has maintained the Feed2Win program.
Initially nights of home basketball games, girls and boys, were designated as meal nights. Volunteers arrived at 4:00 p.m. to make sandwiches, served the meal between 4:30-5:00 p.m. and cleaned up from 5:00 to 5:15 p.m. The visiting team was also fed. This schedule has continued this year. The success of this community program is reflected in the very positive thank you’s from the students, coaches and parents.
The goal of Feed2Win is to expand the program to support student participation in other after school opportunities. Join us at home basketball games, see the program in action, and watch some fantastic basketball.
Volunteers and donations to maintain and grow the program are gratefully appreciated.
