December 22, 1922
Harry Thorson of Longville was in Walker Wednesday for a few hours and reported that all is well at Longville.
Charles Bostrom arrived from Sask., Canada on the early morning train in Walker to visit with his sisters and went on to Hackensack to visit his mother and family.
Miss Anna Gregory of Hackensack was in Walker to see the dentist.
75 Years Ago
December 12, 1947
Good eyesight or glasses will be the first essential in tests for drivers’ licenses. Applicants must pass this test to be issued a license. This new law goes into effect on January 1st.
We are getting plenty of snow and mild temperatures this winter. If this keeps up, there will be no ice harvesting.
The Remer Liquor store is being redecorated and will get new booths and stools.

Frank Koelfgen, former owner of the Remer Hotel, recently passed away.
Florence Cote and Marge Wolff visited with Marilyn Geske on Friday which was her birthday.
Chester Bandemere and family spent last weekend with his mother, Agnes, at Inguadona.

Saturday more than 5,000 cookies left the Longville Elementary School. More than 70 area bakers contributed to raise funds to support the Longville ice skating rink.
The Longville Area Foundation directs donation to local projects. Those include the Longville Clinic, Longville School Forest, Longville Cub Scouts and the Longville Library.
