Carlson notches 100th win as Eagles start season 3-0
Eagles’ Coach Chris Carlson entered his 10th season needing one win to reach the 100-victory milestone and his senior laden team gave him that in a dominating 86-58 win over the visiting Menahga Braves. Carlson has brought stability to a program that was changing coaches on an annual basis when he took over.
On the court, the Eagles were led by 27 points from Nolan Carlson who was a sizzling eight for eight from the field in the first half. Alec Wake was solid all over the court with 23 points, six rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
In a busy week of action, the Eagles welcomed Fond Du Lac to Remer the following night. It was more of the same for the home team as they controlled the game throughout on their way to a 73-53 win. Alec Wake led the scoring with 24 points to go along with nine assists and seven steals. Aiden Carlson got on track with 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Jace Jackson and Liam Wake were both in double figures with 12 and 10 respectively.
The following Tuesday the Eagles traveled to Kelliher to face the NK Mustangs who had no answers for the white-hot visitors. Northland scored 67 first half points and cruised to a 103-51 victory in their first road game of the season. Alec Wake had an extremely efficient game with 26 points, eight rebounds, 13 assists, and seven steals on just 15 shots. Aiden Carlson (18), Nolan Carlson (15), Liam Wake (13) and newcomer Dylan Schwarz (12) were all in double figures in the one-sided affair.
The Eagles travel to Nevis on Thursday before returning home to face the neighboring Hill City Hornets on Friday.
