Donna Marie Kohanek

  Donna Marie Kohanek (Apel), age 88, died April 6th, 2022 while in Hospice care at Bel Rae Senior Living.

   Donna was born January 3rd, 1934 to Sterling Wesley and Harriet (Wilkens) Apel in Minneapolis, MN.  Donna met the love of her life, Bob, in 1955 and married him the following year at Mount Carmel Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights. Donna was a long time NE Minneapolis resident where she raised a family and worked part time. Upon retirement Donna and Bob moved to Longville, MN. Donna enjoyed lake life on Girl Lake, time spent with friends and her family.

   Donna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Bob.

   Survived by children; Linda (Jim) Osiecki, Mike (Mary) Kohanek, Bob Kohanek, Jr., Ed Kohanek; 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Joe, Carrie, Katie, Robert, and Tony; and 9 great-grandchildren, Ava, Elizabeth, Gunner, Brian, Autumn, Aspen, Amara, Alaria and Arlo.

   A private family service will be held.
