April 14, 1922
Dad Ford held his auction sale this week and Lloyd Showalter and Trum Carver will have one April 12th.
The President has signed an order that makes Cass Lake about the only Indian Agency in Northern Minnesota and which will abolish the Leech Lake Agency at Onigum.
The case of the State vs. Sackett and Mostrom was tried, and the defendants were found not guilty. The defendants were charged with stealing and killing a beef out near Woman Lake.

The Chris Christianson family recently purchased Lake View Camp at Whipholt and moved their household possessions into it.
The Barny Barts Resort on Sandborn and Rainy Lakes was sold last week to Joseph Eldridge of Iowa.
Battle Point Auxiliary No. 2627 installs officers: Mabel Padgham, Nellie Fairbanks, Edna Johnson, Jessie Sherman, Beatrice Wake, Alvina Treichel, Charlotte Grove and Bernice Putnam.

April 6, 1972
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Romness of Minneapolis came to spend Easter with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Romness and family at Remer.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Sawyer, Mr. and Mrs. Mel Larsen, Lorraine Hildebran were Easter guests at the Howard Sawyer home. The children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt.
The Remer water tank sprang a leak last week and was spraying water which promptly froze on the tower. Rifles were used to dislodge the massive icicles before they fell on someone.

Marvina Witham, age 91, died March 23rd. She married Glenn W. Witham in 1931 and they moved to Hackensack. She taught at Walker-Hackensack schools for 33 years and retired in 1972,
Mr. and Mrs. George Donovan announce the marriage of their daughter Peggy to David Berglin on March 24th. An Open House will be held April 12th at the Donovan home in Remer.
A Cass County feller named Bud, would chew on a big Climax cud. And those that he hit, whenever he’d spit, would think of the Galveston flood.
