Oct. 27, 1921
Peter Werman of Wabedo township bagged a big black bear last weekend.
The old log building across from Fuller’s Store is being razed to make way for the new road from Pine River which is almost completed.
F. H. Jordan of Longville is working near Remer these days.

Oct. 25, 1946
Lee Garner, Longville school janitor, says the new stoker is working. Mrs. C. Elwell is the cook and hot lunches are being served daily.
Alma Ida McClintock celebrated her 3rd birthday and is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jesse McClintock who purchased the Jim Shepard place in Blind Lake.
Mrs. Emma Gelispi from Nebraska arrived at Boy River. She has sold her place to Oscar Johnson.

Oct. 21, 1971
Robert Carlson was killed in a motorcycle/tractor accident last week near Willmar. He was a Vietnam veteran.
The marriage of Shirley Hare and John Cook took place Oct. 9th at the home of John’s aunt, Edna Godfrey, who as Justice of the Peace, performed the ceremony.
Technical Sergeant Gordon E. Ford, son of the Earl Fords of Hackensack, is assigned to the US Air Force Orientation Group at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. He has also served in Vietnam.

Curtis Edgar Shepard was born September 27, 1920 in Blind Lake Township to Willie and Ruth (Hardy) Shepard. He married Lucille (Brant) who preceded him in death. He died September 23rd, he was a State Fire Warden for many years.
Many people gravitated to the new park shelter building under construction by the Longville Lions Club, during the Family Center Open House.
A citizen advisory group believes the DNR should protect the blacktop surface of the Paul Bunyan State Trail from snowmobiles equipped with metal studs.
