The American Red Cross recently held a Blood Drive in Emily. Despite the competing thunderstorms a total of 118 pints of life saving blood was collected. This was the 58th bloodmobile held in Emily over the past 24 years, bringing a total of 5313 pints collected from this site.

All brave donors were greatly appreciated coming out in the inclement weather. This included many first timer donors. Massage Therapist, Robin Fish donated gift certificates for the blood drive. Winners were Bonnie Lee Johnson, Jodie Schrupp, Sue Estvold, Brian Foster, Kerry Charlet and Cindy Terwilliger.

Gallon Pin awards were given for One Gallon: Dick Blevins, Keith Gore, Naomi Berdt, Stanley Bialon, Donna Puschinsky, Nancy Knox, Mike Carlson, Darwin Tallman, and Carl Larson.

Two gallon pins: Dave Kauphusman, Charles Johnson, Heather Jones, Mary Roos, Patrick Redding, Brian Foster, and Ben Allen.

Three Gallon PIns to: David Delgehausen, Jeanne Bradley, and Dennis Lamke.

Four Gallon Pin to: Jerome Anderson.

Five Gallon pin to Randy Moritz.

Asix gallon pin going to Victor Harvet.

Richard Nelles received his 13 gallon pin from donating 104 pints over his lifetime.

The Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes are the sponsors of the Emily area bloodmobile. The next scheduled blood drive in the Emily area will be held on Wednesday, September 12, from noon to 6:00 pm at the Emily City Hall; root beer floats will once again be served.
