LONGVILLE - Donald Joseph Gaetz, 46, of Longville, Minnesota passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home. Donald was born June 13, 1964 in Sandstone, Minnesota. He graduated from North Branch High School and worked various jobs following graduation. Due to health issues in his life he moved to Longville twelve years ago and has been employed at Northland Monument for the last ten years. Don will be remembered as a quiet, soft spoken,"gentle giant". He was a movie buff, and also enjoyed fishing and gardening, especially growing hot peppers. Family was important to Don and throughout his life he enjoyed a special bond with his dad whom he always said was the "smartest man I know". Don also had a special relationship with his daughter and always looked forward to their times together. Donald is survived by his daughter Kristina Gaetz, his mother Gladys Gaetz of Longville, brothers; Michael Gaetz, Fred (Jean) Gaetz, and sister Elizabeth Gaetz, 8 nieces and nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Gaetz. A time of gathering for family and friends was held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 18, 2010.
