   The Crooked Lake Township Lakes and Shores (CLT L&S) Committee bid farewell to Peggy Parks, Chair, and Milt Spieler on July 16.  Peggy and Milt will be officially retiring full time to Florida, and their send off included Minnesota and Florida shaped cookies, as well as some colorful loon treats.

   The CLT L&S Committee was formed in 2012 to address concerns regarding aquatic invasive species (AIS) in the township lakes. Funds from CLT are used to help defray the costs local lake associations incur for lake surveys, treatment of AIS, and watercraft inspectors at public launches. The L&S Committee sponsors of a variety of education initiatives such as the Get the Lead Out (GTLO) program, the Clean Drain and Dry campaign, and establishing monofilament collection stations at boat launch sites.

   Peggy and Milt have served on the L&S Committee for eight years, with Peggy taking on the role of Chair in 2024. Both were active at the CLT L&S booth at the Lakers Lions Corn Feed every year, distributing event posters, collecting lead and arranging for raffle prizes.
